I adore this song. I first heard it solo acoustic on A Fistful of Vinyl and it was immaculate. Erik Peterson played beautifully, and continues to inspire my playing and songwriting. If you want an accurate tab for this song, there is one on Ultimate Guitar. This is my own version, a reharmonisation if you will, or maybe a bastardisation if you won't. I wanted to keep his beautiful Django-esque jazzy style but fit it with my own cowboy and barre chords and whatnot. Also on my tiny crappy guitar I can't play very high up and have it sound good still. I think I did alright, if you squint your ears maybe you'll hear the original... or maybe that's just my guitar sounding like dial-up noises.
Em(a1) is an Em shape with the A string fretted on first instead of second. The canny here will notice that's an Edim with an added perfect 5th on the open B string
